This IDP 3406B inframe kit is a durability upgrade from aluminum 3412 industrial off-highway articulated piston (9Y4004 or 3780509, 1979314 crown) to steel with approximately the same 14.5:1 compression ratio as the original standard aluminum OE piston. The IPD piston is articulated with the same CR, ensuring seamless integration while enhancing strength for extreme conditions. It includes the 1979322CSWS cylinder liner with crevice seal design to help prevent scuffing, making it ideal for converting and boosting longevity in demanding trucking environments. Note: Upgrade to piston cooling nozzle #1663650 with #1118606 bolts (3/8"-16 thread) or #2773076 nozzle with #1515925 bolts (7/16"-14 thread); change to higher-pressure oil pump #0R9449 (replaces #0R9448) or #10R0428 (replaces #0R9697), or increase relief pressure with #9Y1792 retainer replacing #9Y1800. This performance inframe kit includes pistons, skirts, crowns, thrust plates, main bearings, gaskets, retainers, pins, rod bearings, liners, and ring sets—everything needed for a thorough rebuild that minimizes downtime and maximizes uptime on rugged hauls.
